Before taking the plunge, all recreational and occupational divers must complete a Diving Medical assessment with an accredited general practitioner.

Before taking the plunge, all recreational and occupational divers must complete a Diving Medical assessment with an accredited general practitioner. These examinations take into consideration any pre-existing medical conditions that may impact your health when underwater. Our Kawana Waters practice provides diving medicine advice and examinations with Dr Daniel Wilde, a recognised Diving Doctor with the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society (SPUMS) and certified with the Royal Australian Navy. Dr Daniel Wilde offers the following services:

- Recreational Diving Medical assessments for a SPUMS Statement of Health for Recreational Diving Occupational Diving

- Medical assessments for an AS/NZS 2299.1 Occupational Diver Medical

- Fitness Certificate & Diving Medical Certificate Renewals

Your appointment

A recreational Diving Medical consists of a 10-minute appointment with our Practice Nurse followed by a 20-minute appointment with Dr Wilde (if no additional testing is required).

An occupational Diving Medical consists of a 15-minute appointment with our Practice Nurse followed by a 30-minute appointment with Dr Wilde (if no additional testing is required).

Prior to assessment

Private audiology and pathology examinations will be referred out privately one week before your appointment. Please provide the results of additional tests prior to your appointment.

ECG and spirometry tests can be conducted at the practice on the day of your appointment if required.

All applicants must also provide a completed Medical Risk Assessment or Medical Questionnaire and any additional paperwork provided by the dive school at least one day prior to the appointment.
